February is Black History Month and in honor of African Americans rich history in labor and our valuable contributions to the United States, we will pay a 5 minute tribute to the founding fathers of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.
Thousands of women marched on Washington DC, St. Louis and cities throughout the country and world. Women are standing up and fighting back. We applaud all the women and St Louis CBTU members who participate in the marches. Women, exercising their First Amendment rights and vowing to challenge the Right-wing Republicans, in the 2018 elections.
“The First Amendment prohibits Congress from obstructing the exercise of certain individual freedoms: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and right to petition. The amendment guarantees an individual’s right to express opinions and views. It also guarantees an individual’s right to physically gather with a group of people to picket or protest; or associate with others in groups for economic, political or religious purposes.”
